When I had knee surgery they helped me get some relief and sleep. In moderation they can be useful and was the main reason I asked.

Just antibiotics from the Dr. Over the countet pain meds is all I need for now. Once they do the root canal on the tooth I might need something stronger but until then I will manage.

You're right DJ. In moderation they are a great thing. I've just seen too many people that can't moderate.

I had chiropractor get me some vicodin once for some lower back pain. I took two, didn't do anything, took another one, waited a while, still nothing, still had pain. Drank a beer, by the time I got to the bottom of the bottle, all my pain was gone. Had a 2nd beer, laid down on the couch (this was mid morning Saturday) I woke up Sunday night at 9 pm...

I went to the chiropractor on Tuesday for a follow up adjustment, he asked if the vicodin helped, I told him not really, but the two beers I chased them down with sure did.

Boy did he give me a lecture.....

I ain't had any vicodin since.
