I'm ok getting a little tired. Gotta get used to being up all night. I'm going to be working nights this weekend for the first time in quite a while.

How are you tonight?
.
I'm doing great, why the switch to nights?

I welded the splitter to the quick detach plate
I took the motor pan and added a piece of steel at the top to fit the qd, added a piece at the bottom for the tapered pins, and welded the I beam to the plate. Then I surrounded the i beam on the back of the plate with 2" square tubing to stiffen the whole thing up and burned it all together. I like the adjustable height feature, lol

I don't have a pic. I ran it straight out the front. 3 point might work better because of a larger pump in back. Mine has 3 pumps for a total I think of 26gpm. I wish the front was more like 20gpm, but it works ok as is. A 4" cylinder on it would still be faster than most hydraulic splitters. I usually only run it at about 1000 rpm
I'm not sure what my front pump compacity is but has little over 4000lb lift compacity and cycles fairly quickly at anything above an idle. My exhaust just dumps right at my back axle and I don't think I would like standing in that all day.B it I am definitely tired of hauling the splitter around in my loader...

I wonder if you would be further ahead to rig up a hydraulic motor to the original two stage pump. Figure out where you had to be to hold 3600 rpms on the motor. Seems it would work just as well as the original splitter with the gas engine.
The "original 2 stage pump" was a pos single stage at about 4gpm. Now I don't have to worry about another pump going out either

They make splitters that are 3pt mount and use hydraulics from tractor but your limited to only working one side of the beam
Yea and I don't want to stand in my exhaust or stick it out of the hood for one of my kids to tear off in the woods.

I'm going back to 12hr swing for a while. One of the guys that works on my old crew is going out for surgery so I volunteered to take his spot while he's out. It's more money and more time off. Right now I could use both so...

The recoil is ok on the 2149, it just needs a new spring. The top end was scored, but I'm ok with that cause it's getting a 346 top end.

That's good. Do you know what roasted the top end? My 353 had a tear in the intake boot around the impulse. Just to give you an idea where to look.

I didn't tear it all the way down yet, but it's scored pretty good looking in the exhaust. The carb and boot look like crap, so I bet your right.

They have a proprietary bearing on the PTO side so that'll be dealer only if you need one. For parts contact spike60. I'd bet it'd be hard to beat his prices even with shipping across the country.

Sounds like I need to check him out. Bailey's has the top end for 115 bucks, I thought that was decent though.
