I just got a 199 carb for my 353. Haven't got the 357/359 intake yet but I'm gonna see how it runs with just the carb swap. Still waiting on a kit for it though.

I did a welded pop up and ported the hell out of it. It pulls a 18" 3/8 pretty good.

I took mine off FWIW.

I'm all swoled up like a sorry ol' wood tick. Roast was good, dog is chewing on a rib bone somewhere, now have the roasting pan with all the drippings and scraps back in the oven with some bull burger and rice for dog food.

Muh 2wd half ton has 3.22 gears.... on a good day get 14 mpg. Muh 4.10 gears in my 2500HD 4wd get 18 mpg.

how tall are the tires? tall tires and low gearing go well together.

I've a truck that has 3 fuel tanks, gets 10mpg for going on 30 years, and not once did I ever snivel about filling them, as it's a truck. It's seen both coasts and most everything in between. Sorry if it gets under my skin when I see people spend huge amounts of money on a new truck then do nothing but complain about how much gas it burns. It's a truck.
