I have a couple loops of skip. Just don't cut like full comp. I've been cutting on block piles and that chit's always muddy. The guy's logging there always use skip though.

No, but it still takes a bit of work to do up a round file chain. I have a new square chain and a goofy file that I've yet to try, I keep looking at it though. Lol

I got a simington, but I wont put anything over 25 on it, only on occasion. Takes too damn long

Everything is a trade off, that's for sure. It just saves so much time sharpening and I don't seem to mind performance disadvantage - yet, I still have full house chains if I change my mind.
