Morning Dallas, doing good. Looking like the grill's gonna get fired up today, probably do some leg qtrs.
I'm doing ribs, a brisket, and a couple chickens
What kind of concoction works to keep the ribs and brisket from drying out? Cider vinegar and ? Thinking something to spray or mop on every hour ish

You foil your ribs at all Kev?
Yes. And the brisket. I'll cover the ribs after 4 or 5 hours. The brisket after 8 hours or so.

But they also spray something on them to get in and tenderize and prevent it from drying out

To expensive for me
Well, I did some work for a farmer. And a year later I hadn't seen any ching. Sooo...we traded. And I have no problem with that.

Anyway, there were 2 beef briskets in there. So wth :roto2nuse:..I ain't throwing it away. Might as well throw it on the smoker.

And Jack is way more expensive than brisket lol

I've always pumped everything down with a mixture of apple juice, white distilled vinegar or apple cider vinegar, and water. Some folks substitute the water portion with vodka as well. Either way, really doesn't impart any taste to what's being grilled or smoked, just serves to keep anything from drying out.

I just use apple juice

I cook ribs in a big roasting pan smothered in sauerkraut, the kraut does all the work.

Holly crap, ribs and Kraut!!! That sounds phenomenal

If any of you have Meijers nearby they have ribs on sale, then on top of that they are buy one get one free.

Needless to say I'm going to be sitting well on ribs this summer.

Three deer, and a whole hog is in our freezers right now along with a ton of Ribs along with a dozen or so chickens.

I just got home with a half of a cow in the back of the truck.....

I may not be cutting today:(. I may be going out to get another freezer.....

I'm thinking ribs for a few hours on the smoker. Then I'm gonna put some in a pan and dump kraut on top and cover it for a few more hours. That'll be some good chit

Upper respatory crap Randy?
Ive had some of that for 6 weeks now and not much improvement.

The doc said bronchitis and pneumonia. Three rounds of antibiotics so far.

I feel pretty good in the mornings, then by the afternoon I'm weak as water.
