I had some excitement last evening. Was outside messing with a saw and inbetween running it I kept hearing people yelling. I just thought it was the neihbors kids. The closest house to me is quite a ways off.

The next thing I heard was "help". So I started listening and headed closer. I yelled and they said " we fell from our treestand call 911". Oh crap, I called 911 and headed out to the stand on my neihbors property to find the stand had colapsed and they were hanging there and couldnt move.

I had 3 departmenta show up for the rescue. Only thing that was hurt was thier egos. While we were waiting I asked if they wanted me to take thier pic. Haha they said yes and he gave me his number to send them to him.:DView attachment 36706View attachment 36707View attachment 36708
Damn lucky nothing but egos hurt. That could've turned out to be a nightmare for the folks in that stand. When it comes to the two-man metal stands that are highly produced nowadays from Chinawan, and I have several, I've always added an extra stiff leg back to the tree, and add a turnbuckle and chain to the top where it hits the tree in the wedge and usually just a ratchet strap only from the factory. With the 3'-5' extensions you can purchase separately, you can get these things upward of 20' off the ground. A helluva lot of things can go wrong with 1" square tubing at that height with a couple of folks and their weight in one.

I've had to go back and re-weld on top of the ladder step welds with one of my MIG's on several of mine before I ever even got them to the woods...as well as the platform/bracing welds. Don't know what they teach them fools on the other side of the planet about welding, but that bubblegum/barely tacked *s-word don't cut it where I'm from. I'm sure all of y'all know exactly what I'm talking about.

If people would use the ratchet straps, these things don't go anywhere. Something's not right if they don't hold. I've got a few 2 man stands and they don't even budge. But maybe there are less sturdy models out there too. Mine are just the cheap $100 ones

You fuggers are funny with the welding posts. Lol.

At least my Dawgs have got South Carolina 14-0 at half. Game was re-scheduled for the weather yesterday. Game's on SEC Network.
At least they are smarter than North Carolina. That game against Notre Dame never should have been played yesterday.
