Got some work done to the saw shack. For those that don't venture far from this thread.

Still have to decide where to put support legs. bout the time I put them on I'll find a smoking deal on some toolboxes...

Evening fellas

Could run the legs down on an angle to where the wall meets the floor. Makes it easier to put your chair or stool wherever you want

I thought bout that, plan on using some of the space for tool box/cabinet. With open area for each "station". If I decide to build my own cabinet the stright legs will come in handy. Would really like to find 2or 3 cheap 5 drawer bottom tool cabinet's.

Looks nice Joe

Harbor Freight. I picked up a 44" rolling cabinet from there, and my top chest is from Menards.

If you are interested I may be willing to part with my old Craftsman set.. I believe its a 26"is rolling cart and top box.

How do you like the harbor freight box? Think it will hold up?

I did some organizing in my shop yesterday too. This has been needed for awhile. Should have gone all the way to the ceiling though

Now ya can see the bench :).

Wish I had more wall height. The top trim board is right at 6ft.

Looks good Joe. Just build the legs so they can be pulled out by removing a couple screws. Wouldn't be hard to do.

Thank you.

Think I'm gonna build some type of heavy duty lazy susan for the corner space above and below the bench. Corner space seems to become a catch all.

Thanks Ross.
I'll have to keep that in mind. Don't have a ton of room, but think 2 or 3 of them small bottom boxes would be ideal under the bench.

I have some ideas for hanging cabinets. Might try to build one tomorrow for the bar/chain storage.

On a side note. We got a crazy on the loose or something round here somewhere... 4 cop cruisers and just now 3 swat/tactical trucks went by sires blairing. Sure hope it ain't who I think it is...

I love mine. If I had the space in my shop for another I wouldn't get anything but. For the type of work we do on saws I honestly dont see the point of spending thousands of dollars on a high end chest.

I've been eyeballing them because I've outgrown my two craftsman boxes. Plus one of them is a complete piece of sh it.

Probably pick one up after the new year.

My old Craftsman set is at least 15 years old. This chest from HF has drawers that slide better than the craftsman's did from day one.

Unless you are planning on loading the drawers to their limit on weight, I dont thing you will be disappointed.

Now if I was a auto or diesel mechanic and going to fill the chest full, then I would consider some better quality stuff

Ha. I wish. That's my duck/deer processing bench that got overrun by my lathe, and now, saws. The "workbench" is on the opposite side of the garage....I think, atleast. There won't be any pics of that anytime soon lol. I have a couple tables in the middle of the garage where I work on saws cuz the benches get full with other stuff. Also, the benches are too tall for my mechanic's scooter. Haven't decided if I'm gonna get a taller stool or work at the tables still

Picked that one up the other day from Depot for under 5 bills. 52" and decent slides. Like Ross said, if I was turning wrenches for a living I would have a nice box. For what I am doing in this shop.. its plenty good. I think unless you get into a pro box, they are all about the same caliber. Will this be my last box? Probably not but for now it organizes better than plastic totes.
