Good morning. I'm watching youtube video on how to sharpen professional hair salon scissors. New profession for me....maybe. there's guys around here going from shop to shop grinding $20-30 a pair. Making a killing!
Wow, that's crazy.

Ya. I'm thinking long range I could get out of some of the physical stuff I do and start a mobile sharpening service. These tree services would fork over the cash in a heart beat and this hair salon stuff seems to be icing on the cake. Now I got to learn to use a grinder. Lol. Hand filing ain't going to be financially productive.

Well if you're going to go that route.
Don't forget lawn mower blades.
I know around here guys pay a lot to have ice augers sharpen also.

If you want the guy's number who used to do mobile sharpening and saw repair in your area ill try to find it. If I dont have his number anymore I know Ted does.

He said the most lucrative paying stuff was 3/4" harvester chain. He said he was the only one that he knew of in the chitcagoland area that did it and guys would pay stupid money. If you get into that let me know, I have his wheels for that chain. He was trying to see if his old customers would be willing to send their chains to me, but that never ended up working out.

He had one of those tall vans set up with grinders, and chain. He would go to job sites, sharpen chain and make up chain and do minor repair work on site.
