Currently suffering through another Sciatica flare-up, can hardly move. Left side is almost locked up, nerve is so irritated its causing spasms inside my left knee and my left foot is twitching and tingling so bad I can hardly walk. Tizanadine and Gapabentin aren’t even touching it, might have to resort to a Perc or 2. Haven’t slept worth a *s-word in 3 days. I hate this *s-word

That is not cool! Does going to a chiropractor help any?

No. I have 2 lumbar vertebra with bi-lateral pars defects (basically broke that “wing” off of 2 vertebra and both have blown out discs) which compounded with the hip issues means this is what I get to look forward to. Not a whole they can do for it other than multiple surgeries, which I am not ready to do yet.

I’m just kind of *b-wordin out frustration. Can’t do anything but try to stretch and relax until it calms down, which really interferes with all the schit I need to get accomplished. Don’t mind me, i’m just *b-wordin

Vent away bro cuz that can help.

Now my wife got me curved board thing that helps me when I start to feel my back getting tight.

It may or may not work for ya but you never know you set down and the lay your back across it and I can feel stuff getting stretched back out.

Naproxen... Alieve or the Walmart brand, and ibuprofen does it for me. I take 3 of each and 2 hours later I'm pretty well freed up

That sucks dude. I was also going to suggest Chiropractic. If that isn’t an option maybe massage? There is also always ice to reduce the swelling which often what aggrevates the sciatica.

I am well beyond that. At one point about 3 years ago I was prescribed 3200 mg of Ibuprofen a day and that wasn’t doing anything.
Well shìt....it sucks to be you. Best get that welded up while you're young enough to enjoy life

Yep. I got a compression fracture to one of my lower vertebrae about 4 years ago. It certainly doesn't improve with age. Easier to heal up and get back to normal when you are younger.

Suffered for years until I went to a reluctantly went to a physical therapist. I asked why this kept happening in the first place and was told to take potassium and calcium to help let my leg muscles relax naturally, (the muscles actually go half way or more up the back and pull the spine out of wack when tension happens). This has kept me out of trouble for years and no pain meds needed. Amazing how much stuff our bodies need gets sweated out in the heat of summer and not necessarily getting replaced.
Best of luck to getting feeling betterer.
