Just a couple of things will let it run along with a modern saw. Block the governor in the carbeltater. Swap out the ignition with a electronic version, I did a thread on it that you can look at if interested.

The unit can be bought off of Ebay from Germany, get the right one for your model.

Look for a little brass plug with a screw slot. If you find that on any old Tillotson, than it has a governor.
