If you want to feel good about your quotes get someone out there that does metal roofs with hidden fasteners.
I really wanted one of those roofs on my house, I soiled my pants when the guy told me $40,000



That's the same thing I put on my roof. Seeing I've got a old farm house that has piss poor ventilation and awful ice build up I figured with a 50 year shingle I'll get 25 years on this roof.

Yep, that's what the 2 quotes were. Called dimensional vs 3 in one. Remove old shingles, knock out the old chimney and put down osb ice/water barrier etc. Still waiting on the second quote...

Figure this roof was installed in 76/77 when the addition was put up.

@Red97 just order some flat tin and paint it with silver dollar roof paint every two years and it will outlast you. most of the older homes around here have it and they are creeping up on 80 years.

Yeh, that would almost go with the look of the house...

Figure we will be out of here in 3/5 years, new roof can only help sell.
