I love my parents a lot......but spending a week in a car with them was a little trying at times.

I teamed with my dad for a short period of time..... Trust me it's not easy..... Your never more then a few feet away from each other and he couldn't sleep when I was driving.
He liked have me around to do throw all the chains and tarps..

Some of the best times mixed with the worst times.

Yes Sir, we learned early on that we couldn't work with each other for extended periods of time.
That was part of the reason why I had to find a job other than farming when I was young.

My Dad and I didn't have much of a relationship until we started working together. That's when I think he began to realize he must of had a better toe hold with me than he did my older brother. Then he died.

We still farm together and get along just fine.

He comes and goes as he wishes and only does what he wants. He still drives over the road but when he's parked It's fun to come home from work and see what he's been doing.

The other day he was strip mining coal..... He dug a dump truck load.

Haha that's funny.
My dad and I didn't see eye to eye working together. I started working for him at 14. At 18, I could deliver septic tanks, haul redi-mix, drive a dump truck...whatever he needed. But he was always in my sh!t. And I caught all the blame for other peoples' mistakes. I went on my own at age 25 and that's what it took to become closer to him. Once he saw I could make it on my own, things got better
