turns over good and its a job to get to the key switch lol

Check at the coil as mentioned if no voltage try hot wiring. Also, some times freshly sanded points wont work until cleaned, like with a piece of paper, the grit gets in there and doesn't let them make contact. Not always, sometimes.

take an ohm meter or self powered test light and check the opening and closing. might be .001 from touching.
