did you see the culprit kevin ?
I didn't post it yet. Catching up here first. Not real sure what caused it. There was a tiny bit of transfer, more like a streak with 1 thick spot, below the exhaust. Maybe a bad bevel. Ring caught it on the way down and smeared it below the exhaust port. Sanded the whole cylinder wall with 180 on a mandrel with mineral spirits and took everything off. Then I re-beveled each port and scuffed off the piston. Piston was just shined up. Couldn't feel anything on it. Rings were unaffected. I fired it up but it was too dark to cutGood deal! Did you post your findings with jakes saw?
how clean was it inside considering i only managed 3.5 tanks through it?I didn't post it yet. Catching up here first. Not real sure what caused it. me to and im glad i caught it early otherwise it could have been disaster.Glad to hear it wasn't anything serious Kevin.
It was fine. Looks like you're taking good care of it. But it's tuned pretty rich. Drowning it, really. Plug and piston are washed clean. The rest of the saw cleaned right up with air.how clean was it inside considering i only managed 3.5 tanks through it?
i ran out of 32:1 and tuned the last half tank with mix out of my lawn boy. it was 20:1 supertech syn.It was fine. Looks like you're taking good care of it. But it's tuned pretty rich. Drowning it, really. Plug and piston are washed clean. The rest of the saw cleaned right up with air.
I'm gonna cut tomorrow with it at 13.5 and see how it does. I'll let you know where it seems best.
