I got a question for the husky guy's. Is the 345 similar to a 346 as far as upgrading and such? If they are any good I can have one that my grandpa does not use anymore.
You will need the bearing cap peace to switch heads the 345 is like a clamshell. Then go from there I got a jred 2145 that was switched to a 2150 by @t4driller I sure he could point in the right direction and @tree monkey did something like this too but I can find the thread

Brother of mine has a 345...it ain't never checked up, and it's a firewood cutting nachine.

That series saw is really nice.

The only issue ive seen with them is that they'll get a air leak between the bearing block and the plastic case.

You will need the bearing cup/ cylinder riser out of a 350. Then you can put 346 or 350 cylinder on it. If going with the 350, use the 353 flat top piston. I've used a couple of the hyway 353 45mm piston and they have worked great so far. 2 i put with caber rings and the other 2 i put with the aftermarket rings that came with the piston. They all are holding up really good so far. Also make sure to replace the plastic intake boot clamp with a metal one. Also a muffler mod helps alot. Do a base gasket delete and it will be on the heels of a ported one.

For some reason these 350s keep following me home. I'm starting to really like they way turn out after mods.

I actually just sold one to my boss today. He asked me if I had any small stihl saws like an 024/026. Nope, just sold my last one last week. But I do have a husky 350. At first he didnt want it because it was a husky, but after handling and running it he really liked it. I think I have enough stuff here to put 4 more together...
