My power used to go out quite often rural area so i bought a 4000 watt generator and wired my house to run off it one element on the hot water tank 110 volt water pump i was ready now the electric hasn't been off in three year's more than a couple of hours lol
But I'm ready in the past we have been without for weeks when a duratio i think it's called hit.

I have a portable welder with 7,000 watts 220volts auxillary power, that I can plug in if need be.
