I saw in the okie arky thread them guys talking about hail. We had some dime nickel sized stuff last summer. A week later some rat fink non local roofing contractor had signs up all over town about getting your insurance company to fix your roof. They're still here scamming away.

The wood thing- I read in some central states there's a law about how firewood is sold. Here, there's no such law, and it's sold by the face cord.

Not really ripping anyone off. It's just the way it's sold here. When someone here buys a face cord of wood, they know they're getting 1/3 of a full cord. In fact, a full cord is never even mentioned. Here, there's face cord and logger's cord. It's a regional thing

Fortunately, I do not sell. I have plenty and give a large part away to friends who need it more than me. I may need a favor from them someday.

we had a hail storm last May my car got hit by it golf ball sized stuff where my car was parked another section of town got hit by tennis ball sized hail and the car dealership here had over 200 cars ruined by it I was told in July 400 roofs had to be replaced it was bad some people had hail go through the roof but the roofers had good summers

Its fine. Hate to use the term "paranoid" but I feel it keeps us safe. Oldest son and I got schooled a couple of years ago, I don't take weather threats lightly anymore.

Nah. Here, some people want 16", some 18", some 20 or 24. Price gets adjusted accordingly. Seems easier to charge 25% more for 20" lengths than 16" lengths, rather than figure out how much 20" wood fits in a 4x4x8 box

Wow, I've heard very different meanings of a face cord, that's why I mentioned the consistent unit of measure.
