I've had good luck with the Hyway kits. Must've got a dud..

I had a 288 kit that wouldn't bolt down with the carb bolted on.. Or even get the bolts in as a matter of fact...

Yeah I haven't messed with the top end kits but the gasket/seal kits are OK.
