When converting from round.
Would it help to grind them at a different angle first before starting to square file them?

When I convert them, I just take a few swipes each time with the square file. Can't see wasting 3 sharpenings to convert it. Each time it cuts quicker.

I've never tried it first with a grinder. To justify doing it, you'd want to get rid of the factory hook, which is about 3 sharpenings
