I got 20k out of the first 2 sets of stock tires on mine. Bfg AT will be good for 50k. They're worth the extra $

id rather have the hauling and towing capacity of the 3/4 and most guys i know running the bfg tires get good mileage out of them

Well look into those.

For me I don't need a truck to tow much, a 1/2 ton will do what I need.

I'd be willing to sacrifice less towing capability for a truck that gets better mileage.

We need something for a new camper in the future. But we don't camp much more than 10-15 miles from home. A 1/2 ton truck should be more than capable of that.

I agree.
I've pissed around not wanting to spend the extra when I get tires. I went up to the 285's for a couple reasons. 1, I think they look better, and 2, the tread is deeper. Not just deeper in places, deeper all the way across the tire. There aren't any bald spots when there's 1/4 of tread right next to it

I think my next set of tires are going to be Kenda. Got a local dealer with some good prices.
I have yet to get 20k out of a set of rubbers

Hey Rodney look into Bridgestone, I think they make a decent tire that lasts.

When it's time to buy a truck I'm going to give Toyota a chance. My only concern would be towing and if they'd pull a camper.

I don't know if our next vehicle will be a full size SUV or a truck. All I know is that Lisa's Highlander will be going no where's

I had an 08 Tundra double cab 4x4 with the 5.7 and 4.10's. They're stout, more than enough to pull a camper 10-15 miles.

I prefer the Suburban over the truck myself.

Subs and Tahoes with the air suspension are a force to be reckoned with. A suburban will pull better than a 1/2 ton pickup just because of its weight.

The air parts are a bit pricey to replace when they fail though

51000 on the factory BFGs on mine. Got cooper ST Maxx on now, will see

Sent from Hoskvarna Hills
From what I've seen, coopers could possibly be the best bang for the buck out there. I don't have much experience with longevity, as my son's are brand new, but the price was sure right
