Good to be 49 and single ain't it fellas? I hate like hell that my first and only 18-yr marriage failed. No doubt in my mind the Corps and what I went through had its wear and tear on that. I made damn sure, living 8 miles apart this whole time with the ex, we would never *f-word with the kids, nor their heads. Gotta 25-old Navy son aboard the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier working F/A-18 Super Hornets, and a 'know it all' 18-yr old daughter at Georgia Southern University. My gal at school is a pricey one...I wouldn't have it no other way. I never went to college, why I slave away as a DoD C-17 avionics/electrician mechanic on govt airplanes...but it's a fine paying job.

I'm glad my kids turned out ok and that's all that matters in the long run...sometimes fellas I kick myself in the ass for joining the Corps back in the 80's...and all the yrs that passed, and participated in the slaughter I did.

I'm damn proud I served my country in the Corps for many yrs...it was a costly venture though fellas. Ya just had to be there fellas to get the full perspective of just how *f-worded up things got. I acted nothing different than an animal in combat not wanting to come back in a zippered bag...I knew it was the only way I'd ever get back to see my kids and ol' lady.

Sorry for this reply fellas...sometimes I like to get some things off my chest. I appreciate the sounding board here.

Jason, nothing I could say would come close to expressing how thankful I am for you and our others in the military for laying down their lives everyday for us. You sir in my mind are a hero and nothing will ever change that. I couldn't imagine the things you went thru and won't act like I do but brother I'll be damned if you have to live with it bottled up inside you with noone to talk to. We are always here for you, day or night!

Look's like you have made good progress on it.

Bout 1500 lbs of progress lol

I can't believe that's all weld Joe. I'd be sneaking some plate in there to speed up the process. [emoji12]

Something like that was done once before..

Guy went to the scrap hopper, dumped a 5 gallon pail worth of nuts bolts die chunks etc and welded over em...

Nobody would have known except we had to machine a pocket in the he'd and found em. Needless to say he has never been back. That was 15+ years ago..

I know this is a dumb question but what exactly are you trying to accomplish?
