Hey guy's when you grind away the crimp style two peice saw muffler to remove the cat material whats the most common method to weld it back? tig, mig, or braise. What i'm talking about is the two halves of the muffler. Thanks.

@Mastermind has a video of heating the flanges and rolling them apart then once done rolls the crimp back on

Thanks Dall, I'll check that out.

Depends on the muffler.
Dolmars are easy to heat and uncrimp.
Stihls like 361, 441 are thicker, but doable with a handheld propane torch. Oxy torch would be better
Huskies I believe are welded together and would need cut and reattached. The exhaust will melt regular solder, but not silver solder or braze

Started my 266 up today with the elastostart handle from HL, looked like I had Stretch Armstrong tied to the starter. Lol
I've heard that Husqvarna had a similar version out now, does any one know what saw this is on or a part number or anything to get me pointed in the right direction? Cause I don't think Stretch Armstrong has to many pulls left in him. Lol

I have really never cared for elastostart or any other cushy pull starters.
