New guy here…I think that we all need to realize that this is a chainsaw forum. I feel like I am in a soap opera on here half the time (which I love), just enjoy the info and get a saw ported, Jesus. If you need a missing part, let me know, I will buy one for you so you can enjoy your day and not bang your head against the dash…PS: what’s the best 2 stroke oil?

Good morning peeps. I was having low oil pressure issues with my Dad’s Pontiac (400). My boys and I pulled engine Friday night. Finally got around to some dissection last night…not good. I’m not sure how it went down, but I’m thinking the oil pump ate some silicone. The pressure relief valve was stuck open with rtv. I pulled one rod cap and as you can see, not good. I kinda wanted to stroke this thing, so maybe now is the time.

Yeah, whoever installed the oil pan must have used an entire tube of rtv.

I see there was drama that happened on the forum, it's sad that nice people end up leaving the place, friends should have been able to make a phone call and clear the air in an adult way.

I was not able to respond fast enough to post last night to the eggshooter BS.
I copied it and after talking to @jacob j. decided I would post it here.

Eggshooter never got fugged over. A bunch of us here tried to do something nice for him and it had some issues that got repaired and made whole. When I could not produce the old parts as they were being made into beer cans at the time, he flipped a lid and never could be talked straight to since and started a giant dramatic campaign. What more can I do with a person cussing me upside one end and down the other because he has rights!
Fortunately, this is/was a rare case and all the other times ventures of this nature were worthwhile and made folks happy which is what we(used to) try to do here. So, if out of all the piles of saws parts, I've given away, ported or repaired for free to help some folks in need and be nice to others, if this is my one failure, so be it. I'd do it all over again if I had to as there was never any ill intent from me to eggshooter or anyone else, I've ever done anything for.
I always say my job is to make people happy, I regret this wasn't the case, I don't believe a gold plated chainsaw would make him happy either.

I've tried to tell you cowgirls 100x over the years that chainsaws have the capability to make otherwise grown ass men act like 13 year old girls, and then you throw in that some are incredibly socially awkward and others are like a menopausal emotional women and you have a recipe for disaster.

I agree, it's unfortunate. But it's part of the human condition. It usually separates the weak and the strong.

The finger is fine at the moment, took a tramadol before going to bed, slept like a rock.
A couple of days and I expect I can start using it again..

I remember some of that
he wanted the old cylinder to learn more about porting or something like that
And had a full on meltdown when he didn't get it.
