I'm in Roanoke now, and it's starting to flurry a little here. We still have 3-4" of snow left from last wkend with a real nice ice layer on top. I'm about 230# and can walk around in the pasture without breaking thru! Compared to problems other folks around the country are having, I'll take it...

We have the opposite, snow on top of glare ice

I can see houses up the road with cars and pickups parked in the street because they can't get up the driveway

Yeah that's definitely more worser. Kinda funny sight in town about an hour ago. Streets are all curb & gutter, so there are concrete aprons at all the commercial entrances. Brand-spankin new mustang found an icy spot about the size of a supper plate on the entrance at Wendy's and was stuck, no other ice in sight!

I am honestly glad to see snow finally

When we have the occasional dry winter we inevitably have a terrible fire season

We do have black ice occasionally but all the snow in the south is white except for the occasional yellow spot.

Good afternoon from Marquette. Plenty of snow in the U.P., just not here. I always wonder how thunderous the sound must have been when the train cars of iron ore emptied onto ships at the ore dock. Pretty cool that it's still here.

The road from Seney to Munising has a similar feel to that movie too. About 25 miles of straight east/west.
