Fixed the Holley.

It was a combination of things. The teflon bushings in the secondary throttle shaft were worn badly. Also, the accelerator pump cam was in a 2nd position, which gives it a longer pump stroke, but with less volume initially. I also drilled the squirters out to .039". Anyhow, no more dead spot.....

We would grind the acc pump cam so it would provide a steady stream thru the complete travel instead of a strong pulse somewhere in the linkage travel.

We had a long step drill and a long reamer that we used to install brass bushings into Q jet throttle plates. The strong return springs and stomping on the go petal would wear the bores of the plates into an egg shape.

The racing Holleys eventually went to Mr. Braswell who built carbs for NASCAR teams. In our class we could not flow the carb But he had tricks done inside the metering blocks that made a smooth transition coming off the corner at the dirt track.

I guess the Walmart parking lot isn't a surprising place to find a donk on big rims. It's just surprising to see one in Hartford, WI

Plus, I got carded, as a 38 year old bearded fat guy, for buying some blue threadlocker. How can you get high off of, or abuse threadlocker? WTF Walmart?

I should stay in my garage and shop. The world is turning into a confusing place
