Zumbrota Drivetrain. Used to be known as ZBAG (Zumbrota Bearing And Gear). They are manual transmission specialists about an hour away from me. They were bought out by a larger, global group, but their reputation hasn’t changed and they still offer great customer service. They also offer parts and components as well as fully remanufactured transmissions.

This one was $3,800 up front, with a $1,500 that will be returned once they receive my core. So $2,300. I called and asked some questions and they ended up knocking another $200 off for me, so it will only be $2,100 once I return the core. Pretty much in the ballpark of what I expected to pay.

After looking on the net at various sources for a reman, I noticed in the fine print that a lot of them were just getting them from Zumbrota to begin with, and up charging.

True story. When I moved out here, 24 years ago. I knew nobody, no job lined up, no place to stay, etc. Plunked a few quarters into a pay phone in Vail CO because I heard there was all kinds of building there. 2nd call, I had a job.

Guy that hired me on the phone, came out to the job 3 or 4 days later, he introduces himself as Dallas. Meet & greet went fine. He liked my work so I stayed on. He told me he signs checks, every other Friday, come to the shop for your check.

Fast forward week & half, I go to get my first pay check. He hands it to me. It's signed Dallas Holliday. Yes I had to ask because I like history. He took me in his office, and showed me the Holliday family tree, and explained his bloodline from Doc all the way to him.

Dallas was cool as a cat, but if you pissed him off, he had a hair trigger, and would tear you a new one. Him & I got along really well, I enjoyed working for him. He took a bunch of us idiots out on the town one night, that was a blast, He said to me at midnight, hey you want a bump? I was like no I don't swing that way, then I saw white lines, I was oh yeah that kinda bump sure

Catching up on the local news, looks like illegal drugs are illegal again, yay S-word state of oregon, took long enough to figure that legalized hard drugs doesn't reduce crime. What a bunch of idiots running this state, can't wait to hit the eject button and leave this place.

Evening ladies. Had the gout toe drained this morning….wanna talk about not fûcking pleasant!!! That was a solid top five on my list of painful experiences.

A guy at work won't get gout medicine either
So i asked what he does when it flares up
He said he does have boner pills
So he takes those so his wife
Won't come into the bedroom so
He sleeps the gout flareup off.
Otherwise she pesters him to work around the house when he can't hardly walk.
