lol you shoulda started earlier then lolMine did too. Normally by now I'd have numerous split fingers torn off knuckles.
Keeping the excess oil, salt from roads, transmission fluid, etc off as much has possible has really helped. My hands have taken their fair share of punishment from my job.
I already have arthritis creeping in and due to the fact I want to be doing things other than staring out a window for many, many years yet I need to try to take better care of them.
