Companies failed in the past, and someone would buy up the assets, and rebrand a product. That all changed!

Yes I do agree with that. Mopar went tits up, and changed hands a few times, they got passed around like a used up dancer at a dimly lit strip club, the last 25 years.

They are now owned by Stellantis. Which is a conglomerate mega company with a pile of brands under it's hat. Dodge cars and trucks are now two separate brands technically speaking, managed by two different companies under the Stellantis umbrella.

Did you forget about the 5.9 billion dollar loan the government gave Ford in 2009 to bail them out, when they had their back against the wall??

Or the 11.9 plus billion dollar loan they gave GM in 2009 to keep GM out of bankruptcy?

They have bailed all of the big 3 out, not just dodge.

Right now they are in the process of giving ford a $9.2 billion loan and GM a $2.5 billion loan so they can invest in EV technology.
Except Ford didn't want it, but acquiesced as a loan to improve fuel economy in vehicles. GM received over 30 billion in loans and stock purchases from taxpayers to shore up the company. Pretty sure the government divested themselves of the shares. Stockholders took a big hit in order for the unions to be made whole. The auditing of the bailouts are so convoluted that we may never know how the financials went. There 8s a difference between accepting offered money, vs begging for help. I hate all intervention in private business by government. But let's not cherry pick wrongs, to justify other wrongs.

Just to clarify thou, it was not just dodge they bailed / helped out?

They also helped GM, and Ford. Yet your resentment at Dodge is fueled by the bailout.

You should also dislike the other two equally.

It was the second bailout for Chrysler, you might be too young to remember. While I don't like any, two is twice as bad as one.

I don't think they should get involved of any of it. But they do anyways.

Sink or swim is how I feel. Survival of the fittest. Strong live, weak die off.

Been like that since the start of time, not just in the auto industry.

well you are old

since they spread me apart i have pains between the shoulder blades and if i sneeze it hurts in the center of the back and chest

I went to party in the 1990's I passed out drunk & stoned around 3 am.

I woke up around 6 am sneezing like a Mf'er. Some assholio put a bead of toothpaste above my upper lip, then dumped black pepper all over the toothpaste. I sneezed for days after that party.

I'll screenshot it file it in a folder, just to reflect back on this magical moment once and while.

We'd all be driving horse and buggy's again, or daihatsu's.

Had they not bailed them out thou, and they let the big 3 sink.

Seriously, we picked up a harbor freight 2000w 120v inverter. We had a monsoon come through that had power out for 7 hours. I hooked it up to my Tacoma and ran the engine to power the inverter. We ran the refrigerator off of it.

I've been without power here for 4-5 days a few times in the last decade because of storms. No inverter, no back up generator.

Ice or snow in the washing machine, then the food out of the fridge I'm worried about spoiling goes in the washer.

Candles still work well for light, like they did 100 years ago. Otherwise I have a few M18 work lights, and over a dozen M18 battery's.

I've never felt the need for a generator.

We had a mega inverter in our big RV for when you couldn't run the 10K diesel gen set due to quiet hours and such

4 BIG truck batteries would let that run everything including 1 of the 3 AC units for quite some time

And I did run into several guys over the years that carried welding rigs in their RVs
