My friend that owns the spot where I hunt got a place in Florida this year so the slacker isn't cleaning up his fallen apples in the yard and "disposing" of them near the blind. I handled it last night. Some of the biggest pears I've ever seen in there too. I'll see if the local wildlife discovered it after work.View attachment 397458
I take it from this you're not supposed to "chum" the bambi's to a convenient spot?
The boss learned early on in our relationship to just go with the flow if we were watching a movie or TV with almost any kind of firearms involved or action shooting sequences because I always had to pick them to pieces and point out inaccuracies

I have mellowed in my old age plus I haven't been to a movie in 10-12 years and I rarely watch TV

I do the same and my wife just rolls her eyes at me. If they’re going to portray something on film, do it right!
Me too.

Speaking of how engines sound, I’m still waiting to hear @Mastermind volunteer to soup up my arctic rototiller and build a pipe for it

Stock OPE is for pussies

I went to the junkyard this morning to get a mirror for my aunt's car; she broke her passenger side door mirror off and needed a replacement. Car is a 2009 Camry. It cost $50 for the mirror after I pulled it. Frigging junkyard thinks they are Autozone apparently. Now I don't feel sorry about the 40 fuses I shoved in my pocket and all the light bulbs I had in my toolbag.

Most in here call it a Prison Wallet, but you can run with pocket if it helps you deal with the emotions of it all.

There was a show about moonshining on the Discovery or History or similar channel some years back and it was fascinating, but at one point they interviewed a sheriff from somewhere in West Virginia I think. He was clearly a "Caucasian American" yet they had to add subtitles to his part of the interview; I couldn't understand a damn thing he said and apparently nobody else could either.

Back before the unfortunate boating mishap it was legal, and I cared, but now without anything to take a deer with I'm just doing land maintenance.
Why not just leave the apples where they fall and just hunt over the apple tree.
Here that ain't baitin and if it's in the backyard plant a garden then get a nuisance permit to shoot them year round.
Deer are called pine goats here.

So "baiting" is frowned upon?
@cuinrearview wouldn't give me a straight answer if the question was "What is the shortest distance between two points?".

There is no one "straight" answer to that question

It varies by species and location and there are hundreds of possible answers

Lots of places let you bait black bears for instance, but not all, it just depends

Just trying to get you some clarification

Depends on location Adam.
Here in WI, if they find a deer with CWD (chronic wasting disease), it's no baiting in that county and all surrounding for, I think, 5 years. If no other cwd case is found in that time, they then allow it again.
Baiting in my county has been a no go for quite a few years now.
I think it's stupid, but I don't make the rules.
I couldn't put out, say 2 gallons of corn, because it may spread cwd because deer may congregate. But, I can dig a water hole they can all pisš, shìt and drink from and that's OK, water isn't considered bait..
Plus all cwd cases in my county were all on deer farms. Not 1 single wild deer has tested positive...
