I use the internet to read. I study history, a great many how to subjects, and I try to keep this particular forum out of the weeds...as far as Facebook goes, no. Just no.

Good morning gents. 61 to 71 and overcast here today. Church then a hayride with the family on the annual school fall picnic.

I don't do any of that facebook sh!t, I think it's corny as hell. I tried it years ago and made it a few months and deleted it, I felt like a teenage girl getting ready for the Christmas dance.

I was talking to my dad last night about what's really wrong with the world..it's so obvious but people can't see it..he asked me if I would've taken him serious as a person if he lowered himself to my level as a kid..I said no..he said there you go.

Dummies are just raising more dummies..it's actually gonna get a bunch worse.

Social media will be the downfall of our nation. People's thoughts and actions are being manipulated into thinking that their fellow countrymen are their enemies. That will not end well.

There’s a lot of truth there. I also feel that people get too wrapped up in social media trying to impress others instead of just being themselves. It’s very two-faced. I know people in person that are nothing like what they make their life look like online - they’re just trying to be popular or whatever. It’s a sickness.

There’s a lot of truth there. I also feel that people get too wrapped up in social media trying to impress others instead of just being themselves. It’s very two-faced. I know people in person that are nothing like what they make their life look like online - they’re just trying to be popular or whatever. It’s a sickness.

I know so many people that live out their alter-ego on the internet it's not even funny, my friends send me pictures of what people post on social media..I've actually laughed out loud. It's so detached from who they are in real life I couldn't do anything but laugh.

Avoid anything with drama. I am a member on forums that interest me. Just to learn stuff. I always wonder how much smarter i could be if i had this growing up. Or maybe having to work hard to find information helped me, i don't know. Great tool if used as one. This place is my most social thing i do. I don't really know anyone here, but i feel like i do, if that makes any sense. Pretty sure i could sit down and have a beer, or a coffee with any of you. The interwebz is what you make of it. Remember, anything you do is online forever.

It’s like the participation trophy of life. They brag to others who in reality couldn’t care less, and certainly wouldn’t help if needed, just so they can feel better about themselves. “Look at me, look what I did.” And I’m talking about all the platforms. I have facebook - have since 2006, almost the beginning. It’s changed a lot since then.

I'm not gonna take anything away from the dudes on this forum I've learned a lot from, there's guys on here that know their craft REALLY well. I think that's cool as hell.

I've met some really cool guys here, A+ dudes...the ones I talk to on the regular we don't even talk about chainsaw stuff, Jawney Redfins is one of my friends now, if it wasn't for these forums I wouldn't even know him.

I've also encountered some of the biggest pusssies that walk this planet at the same time, the one that got me was when we were joking about beer...beer of all things..the tampons got pulled out on that one...that grew my poo-tang list from 7 to 15. I can't imagine being that fragile.

I don't know much in life..maybe only 4 or 5 things..that's it...and I'm LOADED with common sense and practicality, other than that I don't have much to offer the world.

Another one I hear all the time is.."these damn kids and their phones"..lol..that one gets me every time.

I know as many people if not more in their 40s, 50s, and 60s looking at their phone all day..it's gotta be exhausting to be that full of sh!t.

I have never been to facebook, so i will have to take your word on it. Whenever we come upon a situation, we have two choices, we can choose to try to make it better, or we can try to make it worse. I have seen evidence of you trying to make things better. This is a good place to vent. Much life experience is assembled here. Just like in life, you need a personal filter. Hang in there, you have a purpose, we all do.
