the part that gets me is that -40c and -40f are the same absolute temperature. so zero=32, 100=212 and -40=-40. wierd.

Weirds me out too. As much as I appreciate metric for its base 10 structure, I still find myself thinking/ working in both.

From cabinetmaking i know 32mm =1 3/8" and a 5mm shelf pin fits nicely in a 3/16" hole. But I can't visualize metric measurements
2,536 mm = who da fuk knows unless i have a construction master calculator with me.

If you really want to throw a loop into it, you guys should do some alignments. It's all measured in degrees and minutes...
I can change the settings to use imperial or metric, but I prefer using the angles in that instance.

My alignment is done in minute of tape measure. Works okish...+GFY
