That would take a whole lot of screws. I started using 3" roofing nails in it a few years ago. They hold much better than the 2.5" ring shanks that were in it.
Expansion and contraction, metal and foam do it at different rates.
Think of a ring shank nail, like a french tickler (ribbed for pleasure) after 51 years of that nail moving in & out of the same hole, she's gonna be a bit worn out. Not as tight as she once was.
I'm sure you know all the ins & outs of it all.
