Just came home from work and have decent weather. Pulled the Harley out and gave it the old @dall spit shine. Group of us riding to the funeral home tomorrow afternoon and the cemetery Saturday morning. Crappy reason to get outta work early tomorrow. Plus GFY if necessary...IMG_20230209_154223807.jpg

Put in a little more work at Joe Dirt Auto Body. Got a second coat of primer on the fenders yesterday and blocked them out to 400. Today I got them painted and cleared. I'm a little rusty with a paint gun but they didn't come out too bad. They are too nice for the car they are going on anyways.

What paint system and gun setup are you using Joe?
I like PPG stuff for basecoat, all urethane. Deltron is top tier but Shopline JB/JBP is excellent and very affordable. Those fenders got Shopline. I use Transtar 2K Kwik Prime primer and Transtar Kwik Gloss for clear. I also like U-Pol for touch up areas, their High #5 Primer and Clear #1 are both good aerosol lacquers.

I use Harbor Freight guns for primer and clear and I've got a decent-ish Snap-On gun for color. Primer guns don't matter much but I really should invest in a better clear gun.

I bought a 40.00 gun offa Temu with 3 tip sets. I plan on spraying high build and epoxy with it. For 40.00 I ain't expecting much......hopefully I'll be surprised.

I honestly don't think primer guns don't matter much. You're gonna block it down anyways, it doesn't need to be a perfect finish. I've done just fine with the $15 HF guns. You want a good gun for color because if the finish isn't perfect, its fūcked. A good clear gun can give you a perfect finish but even if the finish isn't perfect, clear can be cut and buffed.

The Harbor Freight purple guns seem to be well liked.
