Eggs are around $5/doz locally and up to $8/doz in the bigger cities nearby. It’s jacked up. They say there’s an egg shortage, yet the shelves are always full of these expensive eggs..

We buy ours from the Amish nearby and they “upped” the price to $2,50/doz now. Eggs will keep for 3 months or so once refrigerated, so we stock up. We go through about 4 doz a week in our house..

Yeh what Randy said, it’s the same here.
Add on top the rate of inflation and also there’s the panic buying.

There were quite a few times I went to the supermarket and only the most expensive one were left. It’s still sporadic if they have them or not

Not sure why there is a national shortage, but my hens have been rarely laying, so I suspect the chicken union has gone on strike. My guineas go on strike yearly from October to April, perhaps the chickens are being represented by Guinea's now. Something is definitely going on!
