The Mrs has been talking about getting chickens... we currently buy eggs from the Amish a few miles away, but we go through about 4 dozen a week. Talk me out of it, or into it.
Small investment in a shelter, keep them out of the woods, or you won't have them long. They eat all table scraps, and bugs. They put themselves to bed at dusk, so an automatic door allows you to go away as long as they have food and water. They are a commitment, so take that into consideration. The eggs are better than any you buy. Think it through. Build a coop.

Gm reman trans that was purchased from a different dealer and installed at a different shop but no communication with the TCM...
So I'm pulling a valve body under warranty on a 2013 van with almost 500,000 miles.

Hmm, did you try turning it off and turning it back on again?:D
Might just need to forget why it was mad at the TCM in the first place.
Fuggin "smart" parts...:p

They are easy to take care of. Each one lays an egg per day in the summer. They don't lay a whole lot in the wintertime but they handle the cold weather just fine. I do wrap the pen with 4 mil plastic in the winter to keep the wind off of them. Build a good coop and pen one time and the work involved in caring for them is minimal. I clean mine out completely maybe three or 4 times a year, I add straw or wood chips maybe every couple weeks. Raccoons and hawks are the biggest predators. My coop is pretty well sealed so I haven't had many issues with them but there were a few raccoons that slipped in once. 50 pound bag of food lasts about 6-8 weeks and costs about $20. Eggs are definitely better than store bought, they are less bland. I enjoy sitting on the back porch and watching them and when family visits with their kids, they love going and getting eggs and chasing them around the yard.

$87,000.. 2023, 10 miles on it.
It went from sub zero Temps outside, into the shop for a few hours and back outside..

The reductant system flaked out, set a temperature not plausible code. Went to reduced power, service emissions...

Evidently if you cannot take it from the cold to warm and back to cold without letting it sit for 8 hours...
Good job GM.
Internal failure in the module.
Power, ground, serial data wake-up, and GMlan data circuits were all ok.

Yeah, this.
When we get to a point with vehicles and principle transportation that wont work because of their "feelings" we have officially gone too fugging far with letting non-parented techie babies have input on important things in our society.
If this continues, we are about to witness a *s-wordshow of unrivaled historic proportions, and I aint even kitten!:eek:

Sounds like the codes our machines throw that are translated from Japanese. We call it Jinglish.
Japanese are funny sometimes.
They put a plant in Aiken SC to build the giant tires for mining and earth moving equipment.
Overhead cranes(my field) are an integral part of their process.
Electrical cabinets need to be climate controlled, due to their needed temperatures for proper rubber curing etc.
Cabinet air conditioners were sourced and provided, but the catch basins for the condensate were omitted, solely due to penny-pinching Japanese logic that Aiken SC was "nowhere near" the ocean.
Those little bastids OBVIOUSLY never got anywhere near Aiken SC, or the southern US for that matter.;)
Otherwise, they would have realised the humidity that we deal with for Most of the year is over 70%.
Theres one crane that gets parked over an unfinished area, and makes its own lake there.
The rest just drip water onto whoever walks under them, uncured tires, and sensitive electronic macinery.:risas3:

Sent from Hoskey Hills

Distillery is only 45mins from the new house. I wonder if they’ll ever get back to public tours and tastings.

What in the cornbread hell have they done to Crown Royal?

Got bought by Diageo a large multi national. I always felt even the original was sweeter that I liked. When I drank rye it was always Gibson’s.

Looking forward to an evening on bourbon tasting when I’m in Dallas in a couple weeks. I’m registered to sample some Pappy Van Winkle.

just put playing cards in the spokes. itll sound cool
LOL!
I seent a Ferd "Lightning" F150 plugged into a 16 gauge drop cord at one of our customers a few months ago.
Poor dumb bastid bought it without having the "correct" high amperage charging ports at home, and none available at his job.
He gets just enough charge to make it to work and home. Maybe 30 mile range.

No formal experience but I can usually figure shít out. That's my mom's lesbian mobile. Coolant crossover pipe is leaking and the valve cover gaskets leaking.
Thought I spotted some cast aluminum and a couple of possible camshafts.
Rest of it looked like a closeup shot of a Borg "cube" from the 90s Star Trek spinoff, less the slo-mo...

Got rid of Facebook today. Feel pretty good about it too

My favorite thing to do on Facebook is join random community groups and post that I saw a man in a blue diesel Chevy with West Virginia plates and a Husqvarna sticker on the back chucking piss jugs out the window on (insert random street from Google maps). Gets the Karens riled up pretty good.

If it weren't for that I'd get rid of FB too.

Way better and less dangerous than Mermaids there Adam.
I would personally trim those, pat dry, shake in a bag with cornmeal and spices, and drop into VERY hot oil for a short period.
Interested to hear your preferred method of enjoyment.

Pretty similar.
I like to cut em into smaller pieces, 3; one from below the midline and two from above. Dry, dip in flour, egg, then panko breadcrumbs. Then shallow fry til golden.
Daughter is gluten and dairy intolerant tho, so cut, dried and panfried in butter with Moroccan spice often wins out.
You can't cook fresh fish badly can you?
