There was undoubtedly a lull in vehicle quality/design around the mid 2000s. It affected the entire industry but it was particularly bad amongst American manufacturers. Looking back it makes sense, they were all going bankrupt. They had been banking on high profit truck and big vehicle sales, and when gas prices when sky high and people were strapped for cash, no one wanted SUVs or trucks and they were forced to hastily come up with some more fuel efficient vehicles on a zero dollar budget while simultaneously hemorrhaging money. And the result was vehicles like the Chevy Cobalt, Pontiac G6, Dodge Journey, Ford Fusion, Chrysler 200, etc...

Garbage.

Had a cylinder from a garbage truck, a model A Ford axle, and a 14 horse Tecumseh 1 lunger.
Got busy and never finished it.

Late 90s-to mod-2000s Ferd 1/2 ton trucks sucked IMHO.
The heavy duty ones were more-gooder though...

im not sure yet if i want to make a axle tank for it or if i want to use the stuff and build a wedge style splitter
a buddy of mine is also interested in it to replace the one he tore up lol

Looks like now is not the best time to buy a splitter. Between RK, TSC, Lowes, harbor freight,(forgive me, it was right there). Nobody has anything smaller than 30ton. I am not objecting to a 30, but the 27 is $500 cheaper, just that I won't get instant gratification by waiting. So it looks like I will be waiting for it to arrive. I can buy a lot of gratification for 5 Ben Franklin's. Will let you know when it comes in. It is the crimson force 27 ton. Unless they tell me they can't get it, which is always a possibility.

Here is what I ended up ordering! Thanks for looking Tim, I do appreciate that. Oneida is qúte a drive, 1 hr 45 minutes each way.

My Quantum XVS did over 1000hrs. Yours ain't gonna fail anytime soon.

That's alot of splitter for the money Larry. $5 benies is a great savings. Alot of similarities between the two splitters.

Got a letter in the mail from the development company that wants to build 50 houses in my backyard... they want to have a "meet and greet" with current residents to address concerns. Fat fcking chance I show up to that. There's nothing they can say to me there that they can't say to me in front of the township planning commission. If they think they are gonna coffee and donut their way out of this they are sorely mistaken.

Actually... on second thought, maybe ill RSVP and send @dall on my behalf. If that doesn't scare the *s-word out of them I don't know what will.
