Can K&N filter damage MAF?

We are aware of the "urban myth" created by a few dealerships that a vehicle's MAF sensor can be contaminated by K&N filter oil. No evidence has ever been provided to support this "myth" and years of diagnostic testing by K&N has shown that not only is this allegation not real, it is not even possible.

I ran a BHAF on most of my cummins trucks, with a street sign bent & cut, for a heat shield.

Also put a, Ice-Box intake on one truck, very nice intake, all metal, made here in Colorado. Had I know the guy stopped making them, I would of kept it when I sold that truck. Just figured I'd grab another from him. SOL now. Ice-Box would/could fit 3 different filters depending on owners preference.

Ice box, wish the guy still made them, would fit a K&N, S&B, AFE, and pretty sure there was a dry paper filter would fit it also. Very nice all metal box with a stainless heat shield on the turbo side. Wish I had kept it, when I sold that truck.

lol mine dont do the whoosh thing
both are programmed 90 hp tune
i went with the s&b because of the reviews and warranty
they say dont overspray when cleaning
the white truck had a junk chinese intake on it and was allowing underhood heat to go in the intake

I'm okay with them on a tuned vehicle as long as its not running in a dusty environment.

There is a company called Gearhead that makes a good custom tune for my F150... on a calibrated dyno it made 380whp and 475wtq... not bad for a 2.7L. The S&B intake didn't increase peak power but it flattened the curve out a bit.

This is the automotive equivalent of this-

The BHAF with a heat shield is the way to go. Increased flow without compromising on filtering ability.

I agree…did the Camel and camel toe thing for 30 days and never had a single problem either.
