No, he is right, the 300 is a dog, but it gets it done, and lasts almost forever. But none ever says, look out, you can't keep up with my 300-6. Bullet proof, and slow. Always gets you there though. UPS used them for next to forever.

Big difference between a purpose built 'car' TDCi and a 4BT tho Big Mark. The 5cyl in my toy truck will rev to 4k if necessary, and has a 6 speed. New versions nearly all 10 speed now.
A 4BT is basically a stationary engine. Very low usable rev range, and gearbox options to make best use of that? Limited as I recall.

Now your proper trucks. Different story.
