Can't like because of rotting. Cool old tractors from when that word was an actual thing.
they was a simple thing back then
you can still get parts for the old stuff the cub i had was bought with a front ear broken on the engine block where it bolted to the front end which from what i read was common with the small tires going into a ditch or hole
i just bought a block and swapped everything over

That POS looks like a Chevy
lol 215000 miles and atleast one is bad and making it smoke

What's blue anodised canister bottom right?
part of the hydraboost system for the brakes
uses power steering instead of vacuum for power brakes
old type setup on heavier trucks
seen them on gas motor one tons and necessary on diesels because they dont produce vacuum like gas motors do

Still hydroboost on the larger Chebbies.
Now they have a backup electric pump in case the chitty engine dies.
Have had the sensor for the backup pump replaced twice already.

This is a '52. It is locked up, hence the low price. Will get it going. Also has a roller, cultivators, a sickle and plow. View attachment 342672 View attachment 342673
Cubs are nice mowing and small work tractors. Easy to get into tight spaces with.
Allis Chalmers had a rear engine 10 HP tractor for small operations. Model G.
Really nice visibility for cultivating without the engine etc out front.

I bought a 1946 Allis Chalmers model C because my grandad taught me how to run his 1950 C, and I cant get my dad to let go of it.(actually not looking forward to the day I might get it)
Those were capable little tractors for the day, and even respectable today for how much you can get done.
I keep it at the boys place to mow his field, but ive got a set of cultivators for it and a 2 bottom trailer plow.
Also have a single gang disc and a smoothing narrow.
They have a nice sound when they are working. They "bark" when the governor kicks in for more fuel. Nice therapy sometimes.
What I keep remembering is that this little tractor replaced a mule for my grandad. He was a BIT tougher than I'll ever hope to be.

my grandpa bought a super A new and my uncle bill has it now and hes just let it rot away uncovered outside
maybe at some point ill find one and get it going

the only reason i got rid of the cubs was because no 3 point i tried the brush hog once and was underpowered for it
so i left the sickle bar on it full time until i sold them
i had a crank and pistons in my building for a cub but they went to scrap when i was clearing out the building

The lack of three point and the engine speed reverse rotation pto doesn't bother me. My other tractors have purposes, this one won't. Sure it will do some work, but I ain't getting it for that. It is a toy, that will be useful. I am already looking forward to mowing the lawn with it. You are right, parts are plentiful for these old tractors. I like some chainsaws.

Nice fat Allis you got there. I have a 51 Ferguson, and now this younger 52 cub. The Deutz is the workhorse, I use that to mow pasture and cut and bale hay. The fergy rakes. These old tractors have soul. I was thinking at one time to buy a new Kubota, I didn't like the price, and I had no attachment to it. Whenever I run an old tractor, I think about the original owner, and what he put it through.

Van?! You need a Hughes. 680 miles at 50mph is over 13 hours seat time, hell at 80mph its over 8 hrs.

End of the month we are heading out to Spearfish South Dakota in 1 day. It's 820 miles.

I drove from home to Huelett WY in just over 12 hours, but was only pulling a 14' trailer. My parents had bike trouble and being it was the Sturgis rally, couldn't find a way to extend their stay.

Think we've all done massive days here and there Ed for whatever reason. But more days than not for work? No thanks.
Commercial drivers are time restricted here to minimise fatigue mistakes for a reason.
