Howdy fellas….& good morning….
A long story shortened for you..

I know you have heard something like this before..
a guy I work with, (wood carver) has A ms151 a yr or so old, it’s hard to start.. I looks at the spark plug (all looks good) I looks at the piston

.
now I’ve got to be careful not to hurt his feelers… so after everything that I suggested I added “I’m not saying it is, it just maybe/could be !”
I goes over all the possibilities, including wrong fuel mix…. It’s not that he says.

well he ordered a new p&c, and I take it apart while it’s being posted.. it sure did look like it was straight gassed..
anyhow yesterday, I gets a call and his other saw he uses for carving (ms171) is playing up. He discussed the problem..
I said well I guess we found out why your other saw did what it did.. your fuel & lack of oil is the only thing it can be..

And added I’ve read about it happening to a company’s that let the new guys get the fuel, then after 2 saws die the penny drops…
that’s one of the reasons why I use my own fuel… and I never just top up the can, it’s an empty can and x fuel & y oil
I guess he will want to be my best friend for a few weeks
