I think you are thinking of smokey mountain speedway in Maryville. I think it is still open. I live 4 miles as the crow flies from 75 speedway on route 68 in sweetwater. I can hear them every weekend from our farm, but I have not been there. I am not a fan of crowds. Let me know if you happen to be in the area.
