Took the old gearmotor apart to see if it was worth saving.
Id say the motor shaft oil seal had definitely failed.
Thats the BACK of the motor where the brake bolts on. Already dumped a few quarts out the front, and it was still oozing pretty good when I left. A clean, dip, and bake is in its future, if not a full rewind.

Good evening fellas. It was a very successful day in the northwoods! Delivery to Steve went well. For all you J'Red fans, this surprise find in Stevens Point followed me home. It completes my Jonsered 21 series from 2150 through 2171 all nos or very like new. I thought it was nos but upon further inspection it has been run but not cut any wood that I can tell. It will need a little cleaning for sure and a Jonsered Total Pro bar and 3/8 chain. Anyone no where a new oem top cover is hiding? Thanks Ed @redline4!

Over towards Rudolph (a bit west and between Stevens Point and Wausau) there's a ton of albino whitetails.
