What does the "S" stand for?

I originally thought Super, but have been corrected by those that actually know.
It stands for "special". They also made an SE, or "special edition. Same 57 cc saw, just black air filter cover and different stickers as far as I know.
Mark Heimann would know for sure.

Robert Mcculloch marketed the same basic saws all kinds of ways.
That one may have had some performance mods in the form of carb or port timing. Never even seen one, but theres A LOT of Macs ive never seen, because they made a *s-wordton of them.

From what ive seen, the 1010S saws started out as all yellow.
As time went on in the run, they started to get more black components.
Probably just to freshen up the look.
My grandads older one is all yellow.
My later one has the black extended clutch cover, a black recoil housing, and black oil tank and cover.
The SE model that dad has wears the same black items as mine, plus the air filter cover is black, and it has(had) a red and silver special edition decal instead of the black and silver.
