It was a pretty good guess mate. Keypads in desk are triplicate. Have tactile keys that take you straight to a particular graphic that represents the real world kit outside, as well as numerals and other function keys to tell what mechanised thing to do what. Are the control panels on the desk touch screens? I see 14 monitors and what looks like three touchscreens. I think 17 was a pretty good "WAG".
Thanks again. There is a guy near me selling a pallet (25panels) 330 watts each for $89 each if you buy 25.[/QUOT. I have 100 watt panels because I have a bad back and they are the size easy for me to carry etc.. I have them where I can reach them to get snow off and clean and do maintanance easily. Sounds like you have good common sense. Regular grid electricity is a way better deal cost wise and what I used for decades but the location here up on the hill with a view is far from the roadside electricity down below. Size your system for what you need or you will waste money...but you sound like you have the common sense to know what to do. One surprise is during summer there is so much sun that running AC off the panels is free. I have my controller set for higher voltage so that it does not hit full during the day while sun is out and stop charging. If you run at normal settings the panels will be shut off and you will use battery storage during the day while the sun is out and then turn back on during the evening and not charge much. An electrical engineer told me about that and I had discovered what was going on myself. There is it enough sun light hours here to fry the batteries and using the system like I do there is no fear of overchging the batteries. The standard control settings are for batteries not being used continuously. I charge close to 15 volts and do nother excessive distilled water usage.
I still think Gary missed it by one. The one that has OPE constantly running in the shirt pocket! It was a pretty good guess mate. Keypads in desk are triplicate. When it works...
You need to tag @StihlMagnum440 like I just did so he’ll see yer poast…What size inverter or inverters are you using, or is it a charge controller/inverter. They are all over the place price wise. I don't think I will save money, just looking to have the Ability to be self sufficient. The heat pump is my only concern. But I think that can be overcome. I have plenty of land to put an array at ground level, no need for roof panels. I am going to get this designed around my needs and size it accordingly. Thanks for all your answers.
Larry

First time doing the wordle in the evenings, instead of coffee, a glass of red wine,(heart healthy), it was very relaxing.
