Actually got done with work sooner than I thought, and made it home.
Just catching up.

If I manage to sleep tonight the new DIC has requested a meeting and one of the topics if my future with the company. I made it clear to him today that I in no way seeing myself making a commitment to spend my next 15 years until retirement here. He seemed quite taken aback that I would express such, after all in his mind he did tell he he saw good thing in my future. Of course what he’s neglecting to remember is that he also told me that my current position was being eliminated and he would have a plan for me in a week, 6 weeks ago.

Sounds like hes an "important" fella.
Guess trivial things like your future with the company slipped his mind "momentarily". Nevermind him actually seeing what youve done there the last 20 years or so.
Sad to say, but its a more common occurence these days.
Nobody looks at track record or history anymore unfortunately. Its all "trending".
Wish you could overcome that, but I'm starting to see its a lost cause.
Just keep calm and focused.
A solution will come.
Remember, its easier to find a job if you have a job.

Guys that know how to do the job, are in demand. Companies pretend you need them, when the reality is they need you. String them along until you have your ducks lined up. Then give your notice. When they counter offer, respectfully decline their offer. It never works out to accept. They are just buying themselves time, and making the inevitable separation fit their schedule, not yours.

Warbles

We had a cat with a warble in its neck when it was a kitten. Glenda and Jasmine got it out. Named the cat Warbles of course.

Mom used to make "Mexican corn bread" with Jalapenos, chili's, and cheese. Good stuff!

A good number of people that I do business with have expressed shock that he got the job over me. Since his hire I’ve received 2 unsolicited offers, only one came close to paying me what I’m worth it had a fair amount of risk associated so I declined. The other wasn’t enough $ and work that didn’t appeal to me. Yesterday I made a call and “ applied” for a position, too early to know where it will lead but I know I can replace them faster than they can replace me.

lol nope i found a matching color bed 230 miles away and bought it
putting chassis saver on the bottom of the bed
one more coat tomorrow and put on the truck saturday
