Really need to just make a decision and move on. Twenty two years with the same company and it looks like it really is time to move on. It started last October with the hiring of the new Dick in Charge and I’ve seen no positive signs for personal growth and advancement.

Had a meeting yesterday with a potential new employer but he’s not quite ready to hire yet. He took over his firm January and is still trying to match his way. Would a be a fun and personally rewarding job but would give up some benefits and security.

Maybe close to the same boat here Gary.
We were a "smaller" company when I hired on in 2009(the "even smaller" company I worked for was taken over by those guys as it was circling the drain).
Was a really good company to work for.
I could call both owners and speak to them about issues if the situation called for it.
They were(are) both humble, personable people.
Almost 5 years ago, we "merged" into a "big" company. 2nd largest material handling company in the lower 48.
These folks ingest another "smaller" company almost monthly now.
Didnt notice much difference the first couple of years, as the big guy rightfully decided to let our former owners run things, since they were doing a better job than their other aquisitions in our field.
Then they decided to make it "one big happy family".
Been a steady decline since.
Sorry for the TLDR, but I believe its finally time for me to see what else is out there as well.
As for the whiskey, it doesnt help.
Goes from one shot to 2,3,4....depends on your level of "addictiveness".
Mines a bit too high for that.
Melatonin is something I can get behind.

With or without chopped onion?
My grandparents would eat it for lunch with chopped onion added, in a tall glass.
If for supper, onions were usually left out.
Y'all are making my fat arse HUNGRY.
Either way, leftover cornbread didnt go to waste around us.

If I manage to sleep tonight the new DIC has requested a meeting and one of the topics if my future with the company. I made it clear to him today that I in no way seeing myself making a commitment to spend my next 15 years until retirement here. He seemed quite taken aback that I would express such, after all in his mind he did tell he he saw good thing in my future. Of course what he’s neglecting to remember is that he also told me that my current position was being eliminated and he would have a plan for me in a week, 6 weeks ago.
