A friend told me piano dollies are your friend when moving these things.
Did they give the silver back?

Been fighting off some sort of respiratory bug the last couple days, and just taking it easy. My father calls me up; insisting he needs me to bring "A big saw" over "right now."
I tried explaining the fact I am sick and trying to recover; but he wasn't having it.
Load up the 395 and drive over there, to find out he only needed a 6' section cut off the end of this thing, but, off the small end (maybe 18" at the widest point) . I used his MS250 and told him if he just wanted to spend time together he doesn't need to make up excuses...
So are you saying if he was cuter you'd "tag in"?
Man that’s cheatin’Those crawler pics make me miss having Old Hurdy Girdy Girl around.

I will get better pictures of it next time I'm over there. It's essentially a homemade cherry-picker with a 12v hydraulic pump/tank on it. Runs off a deep cycle battery. Use the log tongs to pick and drag log up onto frame, set it down, lift again further back, set it down, and repeat until it's far enough forward for travel. It was an afternoon project that has proven really useful for odds and ends that came off the scrap pile. Gotta use whats in front of you, right?

Edit: my brother just sent me this. Rear wheels are just welded on a cross bar and held on with a come-a-long. You can kinda see the setup. If the butt end were forward, the trailing axle wouldn't have been needed to move this 12' elm log
Thats really cool Steve! What model crawler was that? Those crawler pics make me miss having Old Hurdy Girdy Girl around.
