Having some coffee after breakfast, feeling pretty pert this morning, might as well hit some chores outside soon as the sun comes up and before the rains come.

I was just the opposite, Steve. Had to beat the sun going down and was doing chores after it rained.

Got the rest of my walnuts picked, got some lettuce planted, picked a couple maters and some peppers. My basil got so heavy it fell over.

In my experience, you don't need a hot head on a 460 to get it to pull in a truck.
Try and think the opposite of the hare and more like the turtle for a torque motor that will be trying to move a load at low rpm vs a light car for a winner.

I agree. But the 460 head has incredibly *s-wordty exhaust ports. The D3VE head has a non-adjustable valvetrain, a big combustion chamber, and *s-wordty exhaust ports. The D0VE head I'm after has a smaller combustion chamber, is easily converted to have an adjustable valvetrain, and has less *s-wordty exhaust ports.

Everyone covets the DOVEs but don't limit your search to just those. My buddy built a mud truck with a 69 460. That thing had C8s or C9s I can't recall. He would know. Anyway, all he did was a dual plane with a double pumper and an RV type cam. That thing didn't give two fùcks if it had 33s or cut 40" boggers(the original swamp donkeys), and it revved way harder than the 70s crap I had in my Bronco.

My cousin did something similar in a 77 1/2 ton. Off-road cam, roller rockers and timing chain, dual plane ect. With 3.50 gears it would boil 35" Micky Thompson 35x14.50 tires just stabbing the gas.

Fluke. It was C8s in the listing I posted. Fat lot of good they are now they've come all the way down here tho.

I hate most Dallry music since the late 90's maybe some early 2000's.

For me the hatred starts even earlier

I was raised on Bob Wills and Hank Williams

Nothing will ever equal Hank Williams

The country music “experts” back in the 60s said that rock was “formulaic, repetitive, derivative, etc”

That pretty much sums up the last 30 years of country music

Guys with pulled down goat milking hats and all stamped out of the same cookie cutter

Can’t tell one from another

It all went downhill after the Outlaw movement in my book

Distinctive singers like Don Williams, Willie, Waylon, and that genre was the last for me and what I still listen to mixed in with Led Zeppelin and the Grateful Dead

I do love some contemporary bluegrass too
