So does your safety net have the ability yo tow 25,000 pounds, cross the Rubicon and get 10 miles per gallon? Never know. You might get another bike on the trailer lol.
the trailer being pulled is more weight than your toy can handle lol

Nope. But if that type of vehicle was more readily available here I'd be a candidate. As it is we really only have cab over style.

In my theoretical reply to kiwi? Of course not. We most likely will never pull more that 3500-4000 pounds and not any time soon. Future camper upgrade plans.

I've gotten 23mpg empty and 8mpg pulling about 14k with my diesel. If I wasn't a lead foot, it could probably be better.

We don't just take the truck to town unless there will be something in the bed or the bikes are being pulled on the trailer. Camper. The Civic gets 34-36 mpg and the hrv gets 30-32. Makes sense to drive those for errday transportation ect.

We get 23-24mpg without a trailer and 17.5-18.5 with the camper. 19-21 with the utility trailer and bikes.

My 'truck' is my car. I can buy a lot of fuel for the cost savings on buying a third vehicle.
Everyone's situation is their own.

We could have the truck as the car as well. We choose not to is all. The cars were bought new and outright. And the majority of the miles goes on them.
They are the cheapest to replace so we use them up first. We are probably not the normal but it works for us.
