Here's a mf'r in the wrong position, no clue as to what he's doing, gubment GS-9 for ya...
Long story short, we needed about qty 70, 1" key rings to tag sets of keys for a few different shops here in C-17's...told one of our bozo supply guru's "just order 100, we'll have a few left over if needed." Well, he ordered 100...100 BAGS OF 100 EACH 1" KEY RINGS. Last time I stepped into a math class, that's 10,000 1" key rings. And you don't even need to do the math class thing...multiply 1 x 1, then add the total number of zero's to the end.
*s-wordt for brains said..."well, we definitely won't run out." F'ng amazing! And it's ten times the damn red tape, migraine headache to try and 'return' this *s-wordt back through this well orchestrated USAF supply system...don't even attempt nor try it.
BTW, the flightline was no place to be last Thurs afternoon. The big dogs come out from hiding, come out the woodwork when something *f-wordks up. An F-15 Strike Eagle had a IFE...RH Side MLG deploy failure...damn near did a complete belly landing. Twas a helluva landing by a very experienced pilot to keep damage minimal and no ejection. Nonetheless, still a costly seven-figures fix when it's all said and done.
We appreciate your tax dollars...keep working 'til we say stop!
